In and around Chachapoyas

Chachapoyas is a cool Mountain town that feels very safe and friendly. I’d like to spend more time here and explore all the history and culture but its rainy season and trying to meet a friend keeps me driving me south.

A couple of cool roads I took

Had a nice day adventure to the Gocta Waterfall. Debatable as the worlds 3rd largest I was told. Was nice to hike and get the blood pumping between long days on the bike.

Gocta is well worth the time to hike to it. Unfortunately some of my favorite pictures wont upload. Here is what I can give ya.

Met a guy named Alex on the hike who is from the UK and been living in Lima for a year as a reporter. He was a wealth of knowledge on South America politics and current events. We decided to meet up for a beer that night. An Irish couple joined us later. Was a fun night with good conversations and I of course took zero pics. I may see the Irish couple south because they are continuing to travel. Alex moves back to the UK in about 2 weeks.

The road gets a little bumpy mañana!
