Monanita is a crazy party town in the centro. That is not where I stay! I made that mistake my last trip and it was brutal. Stayed in a hostel right on calle de cocteles(cocktail street). The music is so crazy that the building vibrated all night. So lesson learned. I now stay north of town up the beach right at the surf break. It is so nice and if I feel I need to have some more fun. A 10 min walk down the beach to the craziness. My Montanita life exists outside the main town. On the average day, I do everything in a three block radius. That includes all meals, Spanish School, surfing, siesta and whatever else the day might bring! My days seem to slip away even though there isn’t a ton happening.
It has been a humbling month too. From a very special Galapagos experience, to the challenges of getting the moto, now surfing and Spanish School. I have surfed before but I would not say I am a surfer. I know some Spanish but do not speak Spanish. Combine those two very difficult activities and it is a very challenging month. Both my surfing and Spanish are improving but I was hoping for a little better pace on the improvement of both. Oh well it is what it is and I’m loving my time here.
I now mention leaving to people and they just laugh and “say your are not leaving!”
We shall see!! I have a plan now I just need to execute it!
Some excitement for the day! They were so close to hitting and the guy thought he was pretty cool for making it! Waiting just wasn’t an option!
This artist is amazing! Almost every night he does a new chalk drawing and they are incredibly detailed. This is the classic picture of Jack Nicholas blowing a smoke ring. Its not quite finished

A lot of orange. Made me think of the 690 I sold. I was thinking about doing the trip on it. For me it wasn’t the right bike for the job
Off to take a swim and maybe surf later. The not so hard decisions of my life currently.
